A seven-night package gives you seven nights of accommodation, but it does not necessarily give you seven days on the beach. The flight schedule, the journey to the hotel and the return transfer shape the first and last day. If you are hoping to fit an Egypt holiday into a fixed block of leave in 2027, compare the time you will actually spend at the resort before you compare hotel star ratings. A late arrival and an early departure can make two packages with identical dates feel like very different holidays.
For English-speaking travellers who live in Poland or can realistically use Polish departure airports, the practical starting point is a shortlist of last-minute holidays departing from Poland that fit your leave dates and budget. Record the number of nights, departure airport and flight times for each candidate. Packages shown many months before travel are regular advance offers; a trip in 2027 becomes a last-minute choice only as its departure approaches. The question to ask at either stage is the same: when will you arrive at the hotel, and when will you leave it?
Start with a clock, not a calendar square
Consider two hypothetical seven-night Egypt packages. Both begin on a Monday and end the following Monday. In the first, you reach the hotel at 13:00 on arrival day and your return transfer leaves at 18:00 on the final day. In the second, you reach the hotel at 23:30 and the return transfer leaves at 07:00. Both include the same seven hotel nights and the six full days between the two Mondays. Yet the first may also offer most of an arrival afternoon and part of a final day, while the second offers almost neither.
Those hours are an illustration, not a promise about a 2027 flight. A late transfer does not automatically mean late room access or meals. Likewise, a flight leaving in the evening may involve a much earlier pickup from the resort. To compare real packages, write down the estimated hotel arrival and transfer departure times, then mark the first and final days as full, partial or mostly travel. This makes the difference easier to see than the headline “eight days, seven nights”.
What can change between the airport and the beach?
Scheduled landing time is not hotel arrival time. After landing, travellers may need time to leave the aircraft, complete arrival formalities, collect bags and board a shared transfer. A coach may then stop at several hotels. None of those stages can be inferred precisely from a destination name or from the number of nights. Ask the organiser for the expected transfer arrangement and estimate for the particular hotel, and treat the estimate as a planning tool rather than a guaranteed arrival time.
The timing can matter more than the difference between two similar room categories. If you plan to swim on the first day, arriving in daylight and reaching the resort with time to spare is more useful than a photograph of a larger room that you will first see near midnight. If the first night is only for sleep and you care most about a lower package price, a late arrival might be perfectly acceptable. Make that trade-off consciously.
TUI Poland explains in its air-holiday information that arrival and departure days are travel days; flights are not necessarily timed for a morning arrival and evening return. It also says that some flight times shown during booking are approximate and can change. For that reason, an early-looking schedule is a benefit to weigh, but it should not be the only reason for committing every hour of your 2027 leave.
Egypt: choose the resort using the time you actually have

Then open the actual package details and inspect its flight and transfer arrangements. One traveller wants to spend every possible afternoon on the Red Sea coast; another is content with six uninterrupted resort days and prefers the lowest workable price. If the trip includes a long excursion away from the resort, count that as an excursion day rather than a beach day. This is especially useful when comparing a short package with one or two ambitious outings against a longer stay that leaves more unstructured time.
Do not assume that the label Hurghada, Marsa Alam or Sharm el-Sheikh tells you how long a transfer will take. Each name covers different hotels and routes, while the arrival airport and number of coach stops also matter. For a real offer, check the hotel location and ask the organiser about the expected transfer. A cheaper resort can still be the right choice; the point is to know what part of your holiday you are spending on the journey.
Work backwards from the return flight
On the last day, distinguish three moments: room checkout, the end of any included meals or drinks, and pickup for the airport. They may be different. TUI Poland notes that hotel rooms typically become available in the afternoon and must usually be vacated around midday; meal access can also be affected by actual flight times. The precise conditions still depend on the hotel and the booked package. Do not add a full final beach day to your calculation merely because the plane takes off after dinner.
If a late flight is important, ask whether the hotel stores luggage, whether you can shower after checkout, and whether food and drinks remain included until the transfer. If the transfer is early in the morning, the final date is mostly travel even if it appears as a holiday day on the booking calendar. Conversely, a late pickup can be useful when the hotel provides facilities after room checkout. These details can turn a seemingly small scheduling difference into a meaningful difference in comfort.
How much leave does a seven-night trip use?
Count from the departure from home to your realistic return home, not only from check-in to checkout. For someone working Monday to Friday, a Monday-to-Monday package could require leave on the two Mondays and the four weekdays in between: six workdays in this simplified example. A late landing back in Poland, onward travel or a shift the next morning may make an additional day useful. Different work patterns give a different answer, so write the actual dates on your own calendar before calling the trip a “one-week break”.
There is no need to guess the precise future price of an Egypt package to do this calculation. On a sheet or in your phone, make a row for each offer with its total price, seven hotel nights, expected hotel arrival, expected transfer departure, workable resort days and leave days needed. If one package costs a little more but gives you a usable arrival afternoon and a comfortable return, you can decide whether those hours justify the difference. If the schedules are uncertain, mark them as uncertain rather than assigning a false exact score.
A sensible 2027 plan before last-minute offers exist
If your leave for 2027 must be approved well ahead of time, reserve a window you can realistically use and decide which Polish airports you can reach without exhausting the first day. Set a minimum number of useful resort days and a maximum total cost. As your chosen week approaches, compare actual packages against those limits. You may find an attractive Egypt trip; you may also find that a different destination has a schedule that fits your leave better. Keep the destination flexible until a real itinerary earns its place.
The best seven-night package is therefore the one that fits both your budget and your time. A hotel name and a night count are the beginning of the comparison. Your decision becomes much clearer when you know how much of the first day, the six days in between and the final day you can actually use.
